  1. Week 10 Monday December 11th 2024 English 1 - Period 10 UNIT 4: IN THE BEDROOM Lesson 1 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Pronounce the sound of the letter D/d. - Say the words duck, door, dog, desk. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: duck, door, dog, desk - Sound: /d/ 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something in the bedroom. 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording III. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -SS listen, point and repeat. -In pairs or groups, play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter D/d and the words desk, dog, door, duck and repeat until they feel confident. -SS say in front of the class. -Play the recording again and call a few Ss to say the sound of the letter D/d and the words desk, dog, door, duck in front of the class. *Outcome: pronounce the sound of the letter D/d and remember and say some new words: duck, door, dog, desk Activity 3. Point and say:14’ -Look at the picture and discribe. - Have Ss look at the picture/poster . Ask them to describe the picture. Draw their attention to the letter D/d and the things/pet, if necessary. -Point and say -Get them to point to the letter D/d and say it. Ask them to point to the door and say the word door. - Follow the same procedure with other things. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. - Ask Ss to work in pairs or in groups to point -Work in pairs or in groups. to the picture and say the sound of the letter D/d and the words. Competencies: 2.1.Generic competencies: - Communication and cooperation competence: read and complete the sentences, work in pairs/groups. - Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information - Autonomy and self-learning: remembering, recalling and guessing words/ phrases - Problem –solving and creativity: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. 2.2. Language competence: - Sound /q/ - Vocabulary: review - Sentence pattern: He’s/ She’s ________(V-ing) - Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening) 3. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss about asking and answering about hobbies. Kindness: help partners to complete learning tasks Diligence: complete learning tasks Responsibility: appreciate kindness 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: Communication, planning and organization, stress tolerance, initiative Oral Oral Communication: let’s talk Self-control & independent learning: perform reading tasks. Example:Quiz master 1 (showing a flash card): What’s this?Quiz master 2: It’s a hand. -After listening to the dialogue, each representative has to find the right flash card and put it in their team’s box. The quicker representative earns one point for his / her team. Then, other pairs take turns to compete. The quiz continues until the end of the time limit (5 – 10 dialogues are recommended).
