Week 7 Monday October 21th 2024 English 2 - Period 13 UNIT 4: IN THE COUNTRYSIDE Lesson 2 I/ Objectives: 1.Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to : - correctly pronounce the words kite, kitten, bike and say the sentence pattern: There’s ________ in a chant. 2. Competencies: 2.1.Generic competencies: - Communication and cooperation competence: read and complete the sentences, work in pairs/groups. - Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information - Autonomy and self-learning: remembering, recalling and guessing words/ phrases - Problem –solving and creativity: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. 2.2. Language competence: - Sound /r/ - Vocabulary: review - Sentence pattern: There’s ________ - Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening) 3. Attitude / Qualities: Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love learning English II/ Teaching aids: 1.Teacher: Pictures, words cards, worksheets, flashcards, objects, recording, computer, projector. 2.Students: Tieng Anh 2 students’ books, pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks. III/ Procedure: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Check-up:5’ -T asks ss to say the letter and the sound they learnt in lesson - SS say the letter and the 1( R/r, /r/) sound. Say “Open your book page 18 and look at lesson 2” -SS open their book. 2. New lesson Activity 1. 3. Listen and chant:10’ - Have ss look at the chant on p. 18 in their books and draw ss’ -Look at the picture and attention to the first line and explain its meaning. Ask them to listen. pay attention to the letter R/r and the words: river, rainbow, road . Check comprehension. - Play the recording of the first verse for Ss to listen and to get familiarized with the tune. - Play the recording again, ask ss to listen and repeat the first -Ss listen. line. E.g. 1a: river, 1b: rainbow - Play the recording for ss to listen and circle. - Let ss to listen again and check . -T gets feedback. *Keys: 1.a / 2.b *Outcome: Ss can to recognize the words river, rainbow, road and the sentence pattern: There’s ________ -Look at the picture and Activity 3. 5. Look and write:9’ discribe. - Have Ss look at the letter R (upper case) and r (lower case).   4. 1.Warm- up: 5’ Game: Slap the board -Write the words on the board - SS listen and play game. - Call 2 Ss to go to the board and ask them to slap the word when T says one word aloud. - After finishing the game, the student slaps more correct words will be the winner. -SS open their book. - Say “Open your book page 19 and look at lesson 3” 2. New lesson Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat:9’ - Have Ss look at the first picture. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to give instructions.
